Custom Software

Software built for how your business actually works.

Bespoke platforms and internal tools for organisations that have outgrown off the shelf products. We map your real process, design the architecture before writing code, and deliver a system that absorbs new requirements rather than fighting them.

Custom Software
Where This Applies

Problem
shapes.

Your operation has outgrown a tool you bought, and the workarounds now cost more than a rebuild.

Critical business logic lives in spreadsheets that only one person understands.

Several systems hold overlapping data and nobody can say which one is correct.

A previous vendor built something that works but cannot be extended or documented.

Manual processes consume hours a week that software could remove entirely.

You need a system that matches a process no off the shelf product supports.

What the
work covers.

Software shaped around your operation, not around a product

Most businesses eventually reach the point where the tools they bought no longer describe how they work. The spreadsheet that became the source of truth. The CRM nobody trusts. The three systems that should be one. Custom development exists to close that gap. We start by mapping the actual process, including the workarounds, because the workarounds are usually where the real requirements live.

Internal tools and operational platforms

Admin panels, workflow engines, approval chains, inventory and dispatch systems, quotation and invoicing engines, reporting layers. These systems rarely look impressive in a portfolio and they are often the highest leverage software a business owns, because they remove manual work every single day and the benefit compounds.

Architecture decided before code is written

We model the data, the entities, the relationships, and the state transitions before building any interface. Failure cases get written down early, while they are cheap to fix. This is the difference between a system that absorbs a new requirement in a week and one that needs a rewrite in eighteen months.

Integrations with the systems you already run

Your new software has to speak to accounting, payroll, logistics, banking, or an older internal system that will not be replaced this decade. We build the integration layer deliberately, with clear contracts, retry behaviour, and observability, so that a change on either side does not silently break the other.

Built to survive the team that built it

Every custom system ships with architecture documentation, environment setup instructions, and a handover session. No single person holds the knowledge. If you later bring engineering in house or move to another partner, the codebase and the reasoning behind it transfer cleanly.

What happens after launch

Software is not finished on day one. We stay on for monitoring, support, and continued development, or we hand over cleanly to your internal team. Either is a legitimate end state, and we say which we recommend rather than defaulting to the one that bills more.

Common Questions

Asked before
engagement.

How long does a custom software project take?

Focused internal tools often ship in four to eight weeks. Platforms with multiple user roles, integrations, and reporting layers typically run two to four months. We give you a milestone timeline in the proposal rather than a single delivery date, so progress is visible throughout.

Can you work with our existing codebase?

Yes. We audit what exists, document what is salvageable, and tell you honestly whether extending or rebuilding is the better path. We have taken over abandoned projects, undocumented codebases, and builds from vendors who are no longer involved.

How do you price custom development?

Fixed price against a defined scope, stated in the proposal before work begins. Where a client prefers it, we also work on a monthly basis for engagements that evolve continuously. Either way, the cost is written down and approved, and changes are priced openly.

Who writes and maintains the documentation?

We do, and it is part of the deliverable rather than a favour. Architecture, data model, environment setup, and deployment steps are documented as we build, not reconstructed at the end.

What if we need changes after launch?

Most engagements continue into a support and development agreement. The response time and monthly commitment are stated in the proposal. There is no minimum lock in, and you can take the work in house at any point.

Next Step

Get a working prototype
before you commit budget.

Send us what you are trying to build. We will come back with a scoped technical sheet, a written proposal with every cost stated up front, and a free prototype of the core workflow so you can evaluate real software rather than a sales deck.
